Street Butterflies

I’ve been living a few blocks from these for over a decade, and only saw them recently. The butterflies don’t stand out very much, so they’re hard to spot (in my defense!) Even once you do, you need to get close to actually appreciate them. They cover about half the block’s pavement.

Love, Love, Love

Christiania, Copenhagen.pngFreetown Christiania, Copenhagen, Denmark

Christiania is an autonomous community in Christianshavn, and it is filled with street art. Inside its walls you’ll find beautiful sculptures, gardens, colorful pavement, and unbelievable graffiti. It’s definitely a must-see.

The Graffitied Zebra

Is it white with black stripes, or black and white with colorful stripes? It even looks like a classy zebra, with a monocle! This special animal is somewhere by the piers, you just have to look around.

Party Animals

This fun artwork lies under a bridge near the Grassmarket. So after looking at the main plaza were the hangings were done, if you walk under the bridge you’ll find something quite extraordinary -as long as whatever place is inside has its doors closed.

The Literate Street

This street’s walls are filled with things like teacups and false teeth (number 115!), some great street art, and quotes lying around waiting for you to find them.
