As you enter Užupis, you’ll come across a sign welcoming you, and asking you to smile. And with art like this sprayed around the small independent republic, who wouldn’t?

So, this was my hotel room’s view when I stayed in the Row NYC, right next to Times Square. I could not find it on foot, but maybe someone has better eyesight than I do (which wouldn’t be surprising at all). Street Butterflies

 I’ve been living a few blocks from these for over a decade, and only saw them recently. The butterflies don’t stand out very much, so they’re hard to spot (in my defense!) Even once you do, you need to get close to actually appreciate them. They cover about half the block’s pavement.
